Unisex baby Paper Sewing Pattern & Guidebook

Unisex baby sewing pattern.
3 lengths: pants, shorts, and dress.
3 shoulder strap options: classic shoulder straps, shoulder straps with ruffle, elasticated shoulder straps with ruffle.
Front gathers or box pleats option.
Elasticated or straight bottom leg option.
Optional crotch opening for easy nap changing.
Clean finish with fully lined top.
A pattern with multiple options for creative play.

Skill level: intermediate

What you will practice with this blouse sewing pattern: how to assemble a lined bib, to assemble shoulder straps, to assemble a partially elasticated waistband, to sew a crotch opening.

A video is available in free access on the site including the complete assembly of the garment (all options).

Age range: 1, 3, 6, 12, 18, 24 months, 3 and 4 years

Material suggestions:

  • Warm season: poplin, batiste, dobby, double gauze, seersucker, viscose, broderie anglaise, chambray, linen.
  • Cold season: lightweight gabardine, corduroy, lightweight denim.
Supplies:

Fabric and trims:

  • Cold season: lightweight gabardine, corduroy, lightweight denim.
  • Button diameter 15 mm (⅝") (back).
  • Buttons diameter 12 mm (½") (crotch opening option) or snaps.
  • Thin fusible interfacing.
  • Elastic for back 2 (¾") or 2.5 cm (1").
  • Elastic for shorts bottom leg 1 cm (⅜") (option).
  • Elastic for pants bottom leg 1.5 cm (⅝") (option).
  • Elastic for elasticated shoulder strap with ruffle 2 cm (¾") or 2.5 cm (1") or 3 cm (1 ⅛") (option).

Pants measurements: without the crotch opening / with the crotch opening.
