What you will practice with this trousers / shorts sewing pattern: how to sew trouser crotch, to assemble different types of pockets, to elasticate a waistband and leg bottoms.

A video is available in free access on the site including the complete assembly of the garment (all options).

Age range: 1, 3, 6, 12, 18, 24 months, 3, 4 years

Material suggestions:

  • Woven: poplin, chambray, double gauze, corduroy, denim, seersucker, linen, viscose, waffle, flannel, soft wool sheet, gabardine.

  • Knit: jersey, French terry, light fleece, terry cloth, quilted jersey, nicky velours

Fabric and trims:

  • 2.5 cm (1’’) elastic (waistband)

  • 2.5 cm (1’’) or 1.5 cm (⅝’’) elastic (elasticated leg bottoms)

  • Optional cord (waistband)
